Featured Speakers:

Matt Gage | Keep Britain Sewing

Matt began sewing in 2015 when he started up-cycling clothes to sell online. He then got involved in making drag costumes for his friends in the east London drag community. He is completely self taught, learning  from online tutorials and pestering friends for advice.

Through his enthusiasm for sewing he decided to apply for the British hit television series ‘The Great British Sewing Bee’. To his surprise he made it onto the show and got through to the final where he made a rather unique dress for his partner Greg, a.k.a Miss Martini.

Matt has recently launched a new website keepbritainsewing.com. The site will feature some simple projects and tutorials to encourage people to develop their sewing skills. Along with an online forum where experienced sewers can share their knowledge and tips with beginners.

Shankari Paradee | Sewl Sister

My name is Shankari Paradee and I’m the Sewl Sister!  I’m an award-winning quilt designer and creator of Sewl Sister. I have a beautiful and unique way of bringing family legacy and vision into her works of art, through quilting and sewing.  Mom of 3 kids, and wife of 14 years, my family is my biggest support and the best cheerleading squad I could ask for!
I’m a quilt designer, seamstress, and quilter! Everything is made with an environmentally conscious approach. My mission is to create a world with no landfill fabric. That means I reduce waste, create slow fashion that can withstand fashion through time, and inspire up-cycling. Sewl Sister continues to create beauty and sustainability on the planet, through using landfill and throw-away fabrics.

Stephanie Troemel | Sarcastic Sewist

I am a regular pattern tester, fabric hoarder, and general sewing enthusiast in my downtime.  My mission in life is to encourage other sewists to learn, grow, and love their creations, as well as themselves.
I don’t think my grandma thought teaching me to sew when I was about 6 would lead to all the craziness in my world today.  While clothes are my passion, I also enjoy making quilts, wallets, and other accessories.  I love the responses I receive on my blog of other sewists and crafters who are encouraged by seeing a fellow sewist, and a plus size one at that, sharing all the things!  I discovered a new area to love in sewing when I started working for Rebecca Page in 2017.  I have a new way to interact with other sewists and share my love and knowledge of sewing, plus all the behind the scenes action!

Christmas Crafts Sewing Summit | 2-6th November 2020

Meet Your Host

Rebecca Page is the founder of the hugely popular sewing brand, www.rebecca-page.com.

She learnt to sew as a child and loved it. But as the years passed, she found traditional paper patterns hard to use (that tissue paper tears so easily!), the instructions difficult to follow and fitting for personal shape almost impossible.

Rebecca found the solution when she started to draft her own patterns part-time at home while having her 3 young children. It’s quickly exploded into a global business with 600,000+ followers and 31 lovely team members (all working from home around the world!).
