SPEAKER SPOTLIGHT

Nicki Hibbits | The Ruffled Purse

A demanding 28-year career as an elementary school teacher left little time to sew…until I actually made time to do it. Since retiring in December 2019, I’ve been blending my love of teaching and sewing at theruffledpurse.com.

It feels good to spend time sewing things for myself, my home, and others and sharing that joy with other people who want to sew, too.

At The Ruffled Purse, I strive to provide sewing education and inspiration to others so together we can enjoy wildly successful sewing experiences.

Amanda Uhrig | Love Lee Sewing

Hello my name is Amanda Lee Uhrig and I am the owner of Love Lee Sewing creations and more.

My dad first taught me how to sew on an older sewing machine that was his nana’s and then my mom taught me how to sew by hand and shortly after I was given my own sewing machine. From there I continued to teach myself by experimenting and failing and learning from my mistakes but never giving up, and then by reading and researching skills and techniques I didn’t know. This is true to this day because I will forever want to learn everything and anything about sewing.

Shaina Mack | Main Street Sewing Co.

Shaina Mack is the chief creative officer for Main Street Sewing Co, a sewing company based out of the United States that specializes in bespoke clothing created lovingly by hand. She also works as a content creator for Rebecca Page Ltd where she can be found behind the camera.

Passionate about sewing since childhood, she was inspired by the beautiful makes of her Grandmother and learned how to sew from many people over the years. She is passionate about teaching others how to sew and sharing her love for sewing with the world.

MEET YOUR HOST

Rebecca Page is the founder of the hugely popular sewing brand, www.rebecca-page.com.

She learnt to sew as a child and loved it. But as the years passed, she found traditional paper patterns hard to use (that tissue paper tears so easily!), the instructions difficult to follow and fitting for personal shape almost impossible.

Rebecca found the solution when she started to draft her own patterns part-time at home while having her 3 young children. It’s quickly exploded into a global business with 600,000+ followers and 31 lovely team members (all working from home around the world!).
